Okay, we have not gone back to Windsor & Eton, as some of the snide but entirely justified comments would have you believe. What has distracted me from my blogular duties is that Karen and I have waged an all-out assault on the city and region in which we find ourselves for only a couple of months more.
This is a full-scale war. A second-coming of the blitz to these hardened Londoners. Indeed, they’ll be sending weary defenders up to the top of St Paul again to desperately toss our pregnant bombs of expat zeal off of its recently-remodeled cupola. But it will be in vain. We intend to infiltrate every cool restaurant, besiege every quaint village, march on every rolling grass-covered hill, attack the West End theaters and pillage the ale supplies of every proper English pub.
We realize it will be a Pyrrhic victory at best, sadly taking a great toll on the hours spent blogging, not to mention the utter destruction of our sleep, sobriety and savings. But, friends, it will be worth it. And, at the end of this triumphant campaign, I pledge to get some photos and clever stories up here for your enjoyment.
